Manager Mikel Arteta made a bold selection decision by handing a surprise start to youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly, while deploying Trossard alongside Viktor Gyokeres in attack. Arsenal controlled much of the first half, creating several chances and even seeing a penalty appeal turned down before finally breaking the deadlock through Saka.
